You can now book your Doctors appointments on line if you have registered your email address with the surgery.

Delivery service

On Monday’s, Wednesday’s & Friday’s we offer a delivery service for our patients to collect their medication from Crackington Haven Post Office, Luggs Garage in Delabole, Marshgate Post Office & Wainhouse Corner Post Office.

Patients should leave their prescription request counterfoil in the designated boxes along with the appropriate payment (cheques made payable to Drs Garrod & Abbott or cash are accepted) by no later than 1pm on the above days.  The medication will then be delivered back to your chosen delivery point with the next delivery wherever possible.  Please allow 48 hours notice if we have to order items in for you. Prescriptions are normally delivered by 2pm on the above days.

Please note prescriptions requested on a Friday are not guaranteed to be delivered by Monday due to the weekend.

Please check your repeat slip carefully for messages from the dispensary .

Holiday request

Should you require medication early in order to cover a forthcoming holiday, please write a note indicating this on your request slip. The dispensary staff will then be happy to oblige.

Medication reviews

Patients who receive repeat prescriptions need to have their medication checked at least annually.  The prescription counterfoil indicates how many more prescriptions you can have before your next review.  A letter will be sent inviting you to make an appointment with the appropriate clinician.  Please make your appointment at the earliest opportunity to avoid any delay with your next prescription request.

Pre-payment certificates

If you are liable for prescription charges and are on two or more items regularly every month, you should consider obtaining a pre-payment certificate as there are significant savings to be made.  Pre-payment certificates can be bought three monthly or yearly.  Please speak to the dispensary staff for further information and to obtain the necessary application form.
